“Bucefalo I”

Fender Jazz Bass Standard Mexico “Bucefalo I”

– Photo Coming Soon –

This is the first bass on which I started to play seriously! Bought for 300.000 Lire (that’s nearly 150 €) in 2000, it was my companion in all the dates with NoLogo and Landslide Ladies.

In 2003 I changed the pick-ups, installing on a couple of Di Marzio “Ultra Jazz”, and painted the pickguard orange.

In 2007, after the come of  “Bucefalo III”,   for didn’t let it fall into oblivion, I’ve completely defretted it, filling up the holes with a colour contrast wood to keep its original appeal, and changed the original bridge with a Schaller 3-D4 chromium-plated.

In 2009, it has taken its final form: I’ve substituted the original black body with an alder tobacco sunburst one (with some “relic” style’s imperfections)  and the original passive electronics with an East UK’s J-Retro 01 preamp.
